Arnesson, Vatrano, Czarnik and Casto cut from Bruins camp

WILMINGTON – Something was clearly amiss when Linus Arnesson, Austin Czarnik and Frank Vatrano were quickly found to be missing at Bruins training camp practice on Tuesday morning and the cuts were finally, officially announced at the end of the day.

Arnesson, Czarnik and Vatrano were all cut from NHL camp after subpar performances in Monday night’s loss to the Detroit Red Wings, and fellow D-man Chris Casto was also sent down to the Providence Bruins training camp as well. Though they showed perhaps that they weren’t quite NHL ready in their final exhibition game, it shouldn’t take any of the shine away from excellent overall training camps from Vatrano and Czarnik specifically.

It would be surprising if both talented forwards don’t end up making their NHL debuts in a Black and Gold sweater this season.

The Bruins further announced that Chris Breen, Ben Sexton and Brandon DeFazio were all being called up from Providence and were expected to be in the lineup against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. Jonas Gustavsson will get the full game between the pipes against the Blueshirts after Jeremy Smith got his full game look in the shootout win over the Capitals last week.

Here’s the group with the early practice at Ristuccia Arena tomorrow, who will also be the players traveling to New York for tomorrow night’s penultimate preseason game:
