2022 NHL Draft: Bruins continue run on centers with Dans Locmelis pick

The Boston Bruins are loading up on centers in the 2022 NHL Draft.

The Bruins used their fourth-round selection (No. 119) to select 18-year-old Latvian center Dans Locmelis.

Locmelis has spent the last three seasons with Lulea HF of the Swedish Hockey League. The 6-foot, 170-pound left-handed shot played 44 games for Lulea's Under-20 team in 2021-22, tallying 34 points (18 goals, 16 assists).

Locmelis doesn't have a stellar scouting report but is a hard worker who addresses an area of need for the Bruins, a team very thin on center depth behind 36-year-old Patrice Bergeron.

Boston drafted a center with each of its first three picks in Matthew Poitras (No. 54 overall) and Cole Spicer (No. 117 overall).
