The New England Patriots are on everyone's minds these days, apparently.
North Carolina head coach Roy Williams made an out-of-the-blue reference to Patriots coach Bill Belichick on Monday night after his No. 11 Tar Heels notched a convincing 103-82 home win over No. 10 Virginia Tech.
When asked what it would take to sustain the success UNC found Monday night, Williams responded with a smirk.
"If I knew that, you'd be calling me Bill Belichick," he said before walking out of the press conference.
Williams also a took a little dig at the Pats coach on the way out, adding, "Except I've got a better sense of humor."
Williams' comments came one night after New England took down the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, so maybe the longtime UNC coach had football on the mind.

Or maybe he just knew Belichick's Patriots are the best model of sustained success in North American sports. After all, they're about to play in their ninth Super Bowl since 2001 and have appeared in the AFC title game eight consecutive times.
But to the UNC staffer who insisted Williams' press conferences are "better" than Belichick's: We'd respectfully disagree.
