The Patriots took the path of most resistance in the 2018 playoffs, taking down the 12-4 Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC Divisional Round before knocking off the No. 1 seed Kansas City Chiefs on the road in the AFC Championship Game.
The reward was a date with the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, the team's ninth Super Bowl appearance in the Bill Belichick-Tom Brady era.
