Bill Belichick isn't one to put individual accolades above the team. But he also appreciates his football history.

That means the New England Patriots head coach was well aware Tom Brady passed Peyton Manning into second place on the NFL's all-time passing list in Thursday night's win over the New York Giants.

So aware, in fact, that he honored Brady in front of the team during his postgame locker room speech and gave the Patriots quarterback the game ball. (Click on the link in the tweet to watch the video.)

Brady also tallied two rushing touchdowns against the Giants on a pair of QB sneaks, so Belichick added a nod to the Clydesdale's rushing prowess.

"Time to go after rushing records," Belichick said with a grin.

Teammate and fellow captain Matthew Slater showed Brady love before breaking the team down, so the 42-year-old QB certain got the recognition he deserved Thursday night.

As for those rushing records: Brady only needs 5,104 more rushing yards to pass Michael Vick for the most all-time by a quarterback and 37 more rushing touchdowns to break Cam Newton's record.

Piece of cake, right Tom?
