The New England Patriots are headed to their eighth consecutive AFC Championship Game, but they won't play for the Lamar Hunt Trophy from the comforts of Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots will travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs with a Super Bowl LIII berth on the line next Sunday. New England improved to 9-0 at home this season with its AFC Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Going on the road has been a very tough challenge for the Patriots during the 2018 campaign, and ex-Pats wide receiver Troy Brown is skeptical a turnaround will happen.
"Today I thought was a really, really good win against a really good football team," Brown said on NBC Sports Boston after the Patriots beat the Chargers. "They've still got to prove to me that they can take that type of energy and type of performance they had and take it on the road. Take it on the road against a really good football team and make a believer out of me. Until I see it, I can't really believe it. They haven't done it all year."

The Patriots finished 3-5 on the road this season, including three losses by more than 10 points. The Pats also lost three of their final four road games, which cost them the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and resulted in the Chiefs getting to host the AFC title game at Arrowhead Stadium.
