Tony Gonzalez: Tom Brady is better to play with than Aaron Rodgers

Share

The GOAT debate between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers creates fierce opinions on both sides, but one aspect of the debate not often discussed is which quarterback is better/easier to play with.

It was a conversation Tony Gonzalez brought to the table on Monday's episode of "First Things First" on FOX Sports 1.

Gonzalez, arguably the best tight end in NFL history, explained why he'd rather play with a quarterback in the mold of Brady or Peyton Manning than a "home-run hitter' like Rodgers.

It makes sense why a tight end like Gonzalez would want to play with a quarterback like Brady and Manning.

Brady's offenses with the New England Patriots have featured some really talented tight ends, most notably Rob Gronkowski. Manning also made tight end Dallas Clark into one of the best pass-catchers in football for a lengthy period with the Indianapolis Colts.

Gonzalez probably is being a bit too harsh on Rodgers, but he does make a lot of good points. There's no throw Brady or Manning can't make, and that makes them the ideal quarterback for a tight end, or any player, to play alongside.
