Tom Brady makes history, tops NFL player sales list for second straight year

Tom Brady just keeps on winning.

The New England Patriots quarterback led all NFL player merchandise sales from March 1, 2018, to February 28, 2019, the NFL Players Association announced Wednesday.

After topping the list for the second consecutive year, Brady is now the only player to rank No. 1 in merchandise sales three separate times since the NFLPA began the list in 2014.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson previously finished first twice on the list, which the NFLPA compiles based on "NFL player-branded merchandise" sold by verified online and retail outlets.

That a 41-year-old QB who's been in the league since 2000 can top young stars like Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz and 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes is a testament to Brady's enduring star power.

It also helps when you lead your team to another Super Bowl title and continue to build your brand through wildly popular Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Brady had some company in the top 50, as since-retired Patriots tight Rob Gronkowski finished 15th and Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman came in at No. 25.
