Tom Brady has fun with LeBron James comparison: ‘He's a better athlete'

Tom Brady isn't the strongest, tallest or fastest athlete in the NFL, but the New England Patriots quarterback still finds ways to help his team win games.

He's living proof that there's more to winning games than pure physical ability, although it certainly helps to have that advantage over your opponents.

LeBron James, the best player in the NBA, is both the most talented and physically gifted player in basketball. James has been to eight consecutive NBA Finals, while Brady will appear in his ninth Super Bowl (an NFL record) on Sunday when his Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams.

The 41-year-old quarterback was asked about James during a Tuesday press conference, and he took the opportunity to have some fun comparing his athleticism to that of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar.

"We're similar athletes, LeBron and I," Brady said with a smile on his face. "Both great size and speed, jumping ability, shooting. Not quite. No, he's a much better athlete than me."

One of the most intense debates in sports is James vs. Michael Jordan for the title of best player in NBA history. A strong argument can be made for either side.

The real debate, however, should be whether Brady or Jordan is the greatest athlete of all time. If Brady wins on Sunday, he'll have six Super Bowl championships, equalling Jordan's six NBA Finals wins. That's a debate worth embracing.
