This wild stat sums up Patriots' dominance since 2001

We already know the New England Patriots have been the most dominant franchise in sports since Tom Brady and Bill Belichick joined forces, but sometimes there's a wild stat that pops up that really puts their historic run into perspective.

Take this one for example. The Patriots have the most regular-season winning streaks of at least six games of any NFL team since 2001 with 14. The second-best teams in that category are the Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, and Pittsburgh Steelers who each have seven such streaks in that timespan.

That kind of sustained success obviously is remarkable, but perhaps the biggest takeaway is the Patriots' AFC East foes all being at the bottom of the list. The Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets have two, one, and zero win streaks of six games or more respectively in the last 18 years.

The 4-0 Patriots aim to increase their total to 15 with wins over the Redskins and Giants the next couple of weeks. Sunday's game in Washington kicks off at 1:00 p.m. ET.
