The New England Patriots defense was sensational in the team's 16-10 road win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 4, and one of the unit's top performers was cornerback J.C. Jackson.
Jackson tallied two interceptions and two passes defensed on defense, and on special teams he blocked a punt in the first quarter that led to the game-winning touchdown.
The 23-year-old's performance earned him a spot on Pro Football Focus' Team of the Week for Week 4. Here's what PFF's Gordon McGuinness had to say about Jackson's inclusion:
FLEX D: J.C. Jackson, New England Patriots
Jackson was fantastic in coverage for the Patriots on Sunday, allowing an NFL passer rating on throws into his coverage of just 2.8. Targeted three times, he allowed just one reception for three yards and recorded two interceptions.
The Patriots secondary has been phenomenal through four games. In addition to Jackson's impressive play against the Bills, Jonathan Jones went into Week 4 as PFF's highest-graded cornerback. Cornerback Stephon Gilmore also has continued to play at a high level after an All-Pro season in 2018, and safety Devin McCourty leads the NFL in interceptions with four (one in each game).
New England's defensive backs should have another strong game in Week 5 against a Washington Redskins passing offense that's tied for the league lead in interceptions and has no clear-cut starter at quarterback.
