Tom Brady's accuracy on deep passes has been subpar of late, and it's becoming a problem for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The veteran quarterback struggled in Monday night's Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He completed just 54.2 percent of his passes for 216 yards with two touchdowns and two costly interceptions in the 27-24 defeat at Raymond James Stadium.
Brady also failed to complete any of his deep pass attempts versus the talented Rams secondary.
The Athletic's Greg Auman tweeted a breakdown of how Brady's deep pass stats compare between 2020 and last season.
The Buccaneers are still very likely to make the playoffs and enter Week 12 with a 7-4 record. But they are 1.5 games behind the New Orleans Saints for first place in the NFC South and currently occupy the fifth seed, which means Tampa Bay would open on the road if the playoffs started today.
This team will only go as far as Brady takes it. The Buccaneers have done a tremendous job surrounding Brady with top-tier players on offense. No team has a trio of wide receivers better than Mike Evans, Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin.

The Buccaneers offense won't produce at its maximum level if Brady doesn't improve his accuracy deep down the field. Maybe these struggles are less about him and more due to having new teammates, a new offensive system and an offensive line that hasn't played up to its potential in recent weeks. Regardless, the Bucs need better execution from Brady to make a deep playoff run and win the Super Bowl.
