That time Terry Bradshaw was Tom Brady in 1983

From Super Bowl rings to their initials, Terry Bradshaw and Tom Brady have plenty in common. The two legendary quarterbacks even shared the same name at one point.

Well, sort of.

Quirky Research tweeted out a wild story Wednesday about Bradshaw using the name "Thomas Brady" as an alias in 1983. According to the newspaper clipping in the tweet, Bradshaw used the name to check into a Louisiana hospital for surgery.

As the Internet exploded with reaction to the story, more facts came out about Bradshaw's "Thomas Brady" alias. Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press clarified that Bradshaw didn't know about the alias at the time and the hospital used the name to let the former Steelers QB rest without being bothered.

Either way, it's an insane coincidence that Bradshaw's fake name turned out to be a seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback years down the road.

There's no word on whether Brady used "Terry Bradshaw" as an alias for his recent knee surgery
