Stephen A. Smith's error-riddled Chargers take left Tedy Bruschi baffled

Stephen A. Smith might need a day off.

ESPN's resident hot take spewer joined sparring partner Max Kellerman and former New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi on "First Take" on Thursday to preview that night's showdown between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Here's how that went:

For those scoring at home, Stephen A. managed to make four mistakes in a matter of 30 seconds. Let's break them down, shall we?

1. "San Diego Chargers" (They're in Los Angeles now; we can forgive Smith for this one.)

2. "I'm going to have some faith in Spencer Ware" (Ware reportedly has been ruled out due to injury; semi-forgivable.)

3. "I'm thinking about Hunter Henry and the way he's played this year" (Henry hasn't played since 2017 due to an ACL injury.)

4. "He's going up against Derrick Johnson" (Johnson was traded to Oakland Raiders before the season and now is out of the NFL.)

Smith's cohosts obviously were perplexed by his incredible inaccuracy -- especially Bruschi, who had this amazing reaction:

We feel you, Tedy.

Smith opted for the "I was multi-tasking" excuse and since has done some damage control, but that still doesn't let him off the hook here.

The Chargers, meanwhile, used the opportunity to troll Smith's awful take.

Take a lap, Stephen A.

As for the game itself, the Patriots will be pulling for a San Diego Los Angeles upset as they battle for top position in the AFC.
