The New England Patriots offense hasn't quite clicked at any point this season. Though the Patriots are an undefeated 7-0 heading into Sunday's Week 8 action, they have been carried by their defense.

The offensive struggled have made for somewhat of a frustrating start to the season for Tom Brady. And on NFL Network's pregame show, Ian Rapoport spoke about one of the things that has been bothering Brady. The team's lack of continuity and turnover at the receiver position.

There's something going on right now that has Tom Brady frustrated. Not necessarily at anyone, but at the situation. He frustrated with the turnover at receiver. Mainly because -- think about this -- he dedicated so much time to Antonio Brown. Trying to get him right, trying to get him into the team. Then, he was released. And this week, Josh Gordon, who Brady has spent so much time personally and professionally trying to help, he was put on IR. His tenure was done.

If Brady is, indeed, a bit miffed about the receiver position, it would be understandable. After all, as Rapoport mentioned, he invested quite a bit of time into getting Brown and Gordon acclimated to the team. Now, both are gone and he is left with a relatively thin receiver group.

This would also explain why the Patriots have been targeting pass catchers in the lead up to Tuesday's NFL trade deadline. They already gave up a second-round pick for the services of Mohamed Sanu, and they may not be done making deals yet. Perhaps if they're able to add a productive tight end or a guy like A.J. Green, that will do a bit to quell Brady's concerns.

A healthy N'Keal Harry could do that as well. The Patriots' first-round pick was designated to return off IR after missing the first half of his rookie season due to an ankle injury.

Either way, this is just a situation to monitor in the lead-up to the deadline. If the Patriots don't find some consistent contributors and settle on who their receivers are moving forward, that could make Brady's life a bit more difficult. And that wouldn't be ideal with the 42-year-old set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time ever during the 2020 offseason.
