Reports: Patriots QB Tom Brady will start on Sunday vs. Cowboys

In one of the least surprising bits of news so far this Sunday, reports are indicating that Tom Brady is expected to be active for the New England Patriots and will start.

Brady popped up on the Patriots' injury report late in the week with an elbow issue. But on Sunday morning, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Brady is expected to start for the Patriots.

This was the expected outcome for Brady. On Friday, our own Tom E. Curran reported that Brady was likely to play despite the questionable listing.

Brady's presence will obviously be good news for the Patriots, as they are likely to be shorthanded at receiver on Sunday with Phillip Dorsett (concussion) likely out and Mohamed Sanu (ankle) a game-time call at best. Brady's presence will at least give the team a chance to produce with a banged-up receiving corps.

Still, Brady's injury will bear watching and we'll see if it has any impact on his ability to get the ball downfield.

Against the Cowboys, Brady will make his 55th consecutive regular-season start for the Patriots. He hasn't missed a game due to injury since tearing his ACL in 2008 but was suspended for four games in 2017 due to Deflategate. That suspension snapped a consecutive starts streak of 112.
