Report: Phillip Dorsett has ‘minor' hamstring injury but could miss time

The New England Patriots got relatively good news on the Phillip Dorsett injury front Monday.

Dorsett's hamstring injury he suffered Sunday against the Washington Redskins is considered "minor," ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Still, Schefter added Dorsett is "week-to-week," and considering the Patriots play Thursday night against the New York Giants, it may be difficult for the wide receiver to be ready in time.

Dorsett exited during the Patriots' first drive Sunday and didn't return, marking his first game of 2019 without a catch.

New England already is thin at wide receiver, and if Dorsett can't go Thursday, only Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski would be left to back up Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon.

The Patriots also could turn to external options, as they reportedly worked out two receivers last week and have been tied to some big-name pass catchers in trade rumors.
