Report: Patrick Chung, Patriots agree to one-year contract extension

The Patriots have locked up veteran safety Patrick Chung for an additional season.

The two sides have agreed to a one-year contract extension through 2021, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

Chung, 31, has spent all but one season of his 10-year NFL career in New England. He has been a part of three of the Patriots' Super Bowl titles (XLIX, LI, LIII). He broke his arm in the Super Bowl victory over the Rams in February and had surgery on his forearm and his shoulder this offseason.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Chung could earn up to $6 million with this extension.

In 2018, Chung tallied 84 tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery in 15 games.
