Linebacker Dont'a Hightower and offensive tackle Nate Solder are among the Patriots who won't make the trip to Detroit for tonight's third preseason game, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.

Hightower just returned to practice this week after coming off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Solder was back at practice this week as well after missing the first two preseason games.
Also not making the trip, Reiss reports, are linebackers Shea McClellin, who missed the first two preseason games, and Elandon Roberts (rib injury). The Patriots play the Lions at Ford Field at 7 p.m.
