Postcard from Camp Day 12: Patriots, Jaguars work end-of-game situations

FOXBORO -- The Patriots and Jaguars met for a joint walkthrough on Wednesday before Thursday's preseason opener at Gillette Stadium. The focus seemed to be end-of-game work with both teams focusing on two-minute offense, Hail Mary plays and onside kicks.

Players wore shells and shorts, and the vast majority of Patriots were on the field for the session. The only players not spotted were Matthew Slater, Matt Lengel, Shea McClellin and Eric Rowe.

Nate Solder, Jacob Hollister, David Jones, James O'Shaughnessy, Mike Gillislee and Devin Lucien headed for the lower field soon after the workout began. Tony Garcia also made his way to the lower field later in the session.

Roaming the fields with Dont'a Hightower and Alan Branch -- both of whom are still on PUP -- was former Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork. Following the practice Wilfork will announce his retirement.

During the walkthrough rookie defensive linemen Deatrich Wise, Derek Rivers and Adam Butler were among the first players to take the field, along with six defensive backs. Butler continues to get work as a pass-rushing defensive tackle. He's shown good quickness in both one-on-ones and team periods in camp thus far.

At the end of the session, Tom Brady spent several minutes chatting with team chaplain Jack Easterby and director of football research Ernie Adams.
