Patriots WR Julian Edelman fined $63,504 by NFL for unnecessary roughness

Last Sunday ended up being an expensive day for Julian Edelman.

In fact, it'll cost him more than $63,000.

The NFL fined Edelman $63,504 for three separate unnecessary roughness infractions in the Patriots' 24-12 victory over the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium. That more than 4 percent of Edelman's $1.529,412 base salary for 2018.

The fines were first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and Mike Reiss of ESPN.

In the game, Edelman only drew one penalty flag for unnecessary roughness, when he was called for throwing a block on a punt after he had signaled for a fair catch.
