The New England Patriots will try to keep their unbeaten record intact when they host the rival New York Giants for a Week 6 matchup at Gillette Stadium on Thursday night.
The Giants are decimated by injuries. They've already ruled out several of their best offensive players, including running backs Saquon Barkley and Wayne Gallman, wide receiver Sterling Shepard and tight end Evan Engram. These injuries create a difficult scenario for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, who has to go against the NFL's best defense without many of his top offensive weapons.
The Patriots defense leads the league in yards allowed per game, points allowed per game, interceptions, sacks, takeaways, third down conversions and more. Thursday's matchup should result in another strong performance from the Patriots defense, and oddsmakers certainly are expecting a rout based on the latest spread. The Patriots are favored by as many as 17 points at some sportsbooks.
One factor to keep an eye on in regards to betting and fantasy football is the weather. The conditions in Foxboro are expected to be very rainy and windy. This kind of weather could make for a tough night for kickers, and also favorable conditions for running backs like Sony Michel.
