The New England Patriots' "grim reaper" isn't waiting until cutdown day.
NFL teams have until Saturday at 4 p.m. ET to trim their roster from 90 players to 53. The Patriots are getting a head start, though, as they've reportedly made a flurry of trades and roster cuts Friday, starting with a surprising trade of 2018 second-round pick Duke Dawson to the Denver Broncos.
Below is a running update of every Patriots transaction between Friday morning and the present, which we'll update as more reports come in.
6:37 p.m.: Offensive lineman Martez Ivey has been cut, according to The Athletic's Nick Underhill
6:35 p.m.: Offensive lineman Tyler Gauthier and linebacker Christian Sam have been cut, according to Underhill.
6:22 p.m.: Wide receiver Damoun Patterson is among the cuts, according to NESN's Doug Kyed.
2:00 p.m.: Defensive back A.J. Howard has been released, per multiple reports.

1:40 p.m.: Wide receiver Ryan Davis is the latest casualty, per Underhill.
1:30 p.m.: Defensive tackle David Parry has been released, The Athletic's Nick Underhill reports.
1:25 p.m.: Offensive linemen Cedrick Lang and Tyree St. Louis both fall victim to roster cuts, per NESN's Doug Kyed.
The Patriots recently added two offensive linemen (Korey Cunningham and Jermaine Eluemunor) in addition to Bodine.
12:45 p.m.: In a rare AFC East trade, the Patriots acquire center Russell Bodine from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a sixth-round pick, per Schefter.
12:30 p.m.: The Patriots are waiving tight end Andrew Beck, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
The Texas product earned a $100,000 guarantee from New England -- the second-highest among its undrafted free agents -- before his release.
11:30 a.m. ET: The Patriots trade cornerback Duke Dawson and a 2020 seventh-round pick to the Broncos for a 2020 sixth-round pick, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
