Rob Gronkowski isn't walking through that door, fans.
But the New England Patriots are adding an extra body at tight end entering training camp.
The Patriots have signed free agent Lance Kendricks, his agency confirmed Wednesday, adding that Kendricks will wear No. 81 in New England.
NFL Media's Ian Rapoport was the first to report the signing, while ESPN's Mike Reiss reported Kendricks has signed a one-year contract that fills the open spot on the Patriots' 90-man roster entering the first day of training camp practice Thursday.
Kendricks spent the last two seasons with Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers, catching 19 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown in 2018. The 32-year-old spent his previous six seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams.
