Patriots' David Andrews is PFF's highest-graded center in playoffs

The New England Patriots offensive line has done a tremendous job in the playoffs despite facing some of the top pass rushers in the NFL.

David Andrews has played a key role in that success, so it's no surprise he is Pro Football Focus' top-graded center in the postseason so far.

Here are the top-five centers:

Andrews has started 65 of his 70 games played for the Patriots since joining the team in 2015, including 18 starts in 18 games this season. His stellar play in the postseason so far is among the reasons why Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has yet to be sacked over the last two games.

"Yeah, well David’s a good center," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said in a media conference call Tuesday. "He’s played center his whole life. He played center in junior high, he played center in high school, he played center in college and he’s playing center here. I would say he’s very comfortable with all of the things that come with that position. I can’t imagine there’s anything that he sees at this point in his career that he hasn’t already seen multiple times, if not hundreds of times, in one way or another. He’s very experienced and he’s very adept at handling variations of all of the things that I just mentioned. He’s a lifetime – he’s a career center and he plays like it."

Andrews and the rest of the interior of the Patriots' o-line will face a tough test in Super Bowl LIII against a Los Angeles Rams front seven featuring elite interior pass rushers Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh. Judging by Andrews' performance in the playoffs, however, he should be ready for the challenge.
