Patriots-Chiefs inactives: Danny Shelton, Deatrich Wise among healthy scratches

Share

The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs have released their inactive lists for Sunday's AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Patriots have decided to make defensive tackle Danny Shelton a healthy scratch again. Defensive end Deatrich Wise is a healthy scratch, too, after not playing in the AFC Divisional Round win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Rookie defensive end Derek Rivers, who missed 10 regular-season games due to injury, is active. His excellent speed off the edge could make him a factor in the pass rush, and the Patriots certainly need to pressure Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as much as possible.

Safety Obi Melifonwu is active as well, and we might see him take on the role of defending Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in certain situations.

Here are the inactive lists for both teams.
