For the second consecutive year, the New England Patriots' starting quarterback is a free agent.
Cam Newton signed a one-year deal to replace Tom Brady on last year's free-agent market. Now, he's set to be available once again and while he could return to the Patriots, there's no guarantee that he will after a 7-9 season.
Even if Newton doesn't return, the Patriots may test the free-agent waters again as they look for a long-term replacement for Brady. The QB market isn't as strong as it was last year, especially now that Dak Prescott has signed a long-term deal with the Dallas Cowboys, but there are still some solid options available along with some young, upside-based options.
