It appears another member of the New England Patriots may be in hot water with the NFL.
Or not.
According to Brian New of CBS News, the league is investigating Rob Gronkowski's party gambling cruise event to determine if it violated NFL gambling policy.
But, in answer to a question on Twitter, New said: "The reality is the NFL had to say this in order to win a lawsuit vs Tony Romo about his fantasy football event."
The Gronkowski matter had been raised by Romo's lawyers in his lawsuit against the NFL, in which the Cowboys quarterback claimed the league acted unfairly when it shut down his National Fantasy Football Convention last July. However, Pro Football Talk reported: "The NFL specifically knew about the party cruise and its ties to gambling for more than seven months leading up to the event; yet the NFL took no action to either discipline Rob Gronkowski or prevent the event from taking place.”
