New England Patriots are most hated NFL team in these 13 states

The New England Patriots have won five Super Bowls, eight conference championships and 16 division titles since 2001, so it's understandable that many people across the United States can't stand them.

The Action Network's Darren Rovell tweeted a graphic Thursday that shows the most hated NFL team in each of the 50 states. The Patriots, unsurprisingly, are the most hated team. They are enemy No. 1 in 13 states, by far the most of any franchise.

Here's a map of the entire nation, followed by a list of the states that hate the Patriots the most.

1. Alaska
2. Hawaii
3. Utah
4. Colorado
5. Wyoming
6. Nebraska
7. Iowa
8. Missouri
9. Kansas
10. Indiana
11. Kentucky
12. Florida
13. New York

New York is an obvious one, given the Patriots' rivalries with the Giants and Jets. The midwest also makes sense because there are probably a lot of Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts fans in those states. The Pats have played the Colts and Broncos in the playoffs a total of eight times since 2001. Florida checks out, too, with Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars fans enduring several important matchups with the Patriots.

The two states that don't really make a ton of sense are Alaska and Hawaii. Neither state has a pro team of any kind. Perhaps there are a lot of Seattle Seahawks fans in those states who are still upset over the ending of Super Bowl XLIX.
