Mohamed Sanu has a new number with the New England Patriots.
The veteran wide receiver has worn No. 12 his entire NFL career between the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons traded him to the Patriots for a 2020 second-round draft pick Tuesday, and he obviously cannot wear No. 12 in New England because Tom Brady has it.
Sanu will now wear No. 14, according ESPN's Mike Reiss.
The last player to wear No. 14 for the Patriots was Braxton Berrios. Other wideouts who've worn the number include Brandin Cooks and Michael Floyd. Former quarterback Steve Grogan also had No. 14.
Sanu will participate in his first Patriots practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Cleveland Browns at Gillette Stadium.
