FOXBORO -- The Patriots were back on the practice field and in full pads on Thursday afternoon. With them was right guard Shaq Mason, who missed Wednesday's session due to non-injury related reasons.

Players missing from the session were running back Brandon Bolden, linebacker Jonathan Freeny and tight end Greg Scruggs were all absent from the start of the session. Bolden has not practiced since suffering a knee injury against the Bills, while Freeny is dealing with a shoulder injury.

Scruggs was on Wednesday's injury report with a knee issue, and he was spotted in the locker room before practice on Thursday using crutches.

Rookie receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was spotted heading down to the lower practice field for conditioning after Wednesday's warmup, appeared to remain with his teammates for the start of Thursday's practice.

The Patriots will release their second injury report of the week on Thursday afternoon.
