The New England Patriots threw one touchdown pass in Sunday's 17-10 Week 11 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, and quarterback Tom Brady wasn't the player who completed the pass.
It actually was Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman who tossed the touchdown, hitting fellow wideout Phillip Dorsett for a 15-yard score in the third quarter.
Brady had plenty of praise for Edelman's touchdown throw during his Monday morning appearance on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show."
“It was a pretty great throw if you ask me,” Brady said. “They kind of bit up on the fake and the safety came out of the middle field, and it was really great Jules recognized that and just made a great throw. That was pretty cool, but I was kind of going, ‘Where is he throwing?’, and Phil was open in the middle of the end zone. Phil made a great catch and Jules made a great throw.”
The Patriots were smart to go into their bag of tricks with the Edelman pass because not much else was working for them offensively at that point in the game. The Patriots had to settle for field goals in their first three trips into the red zone, and they didn't get inside the Eagles' 20-yard line again after Edelman's touchdown.
A win is a win, though, and the Patriots desperately needed it to remain one game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC playoff race entering Week 12.
