New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman provided a young football player with a memory she'll never forget.
Dejah Rondeau, a 13-year-old seventh-grade quarterback from Exter, N.H., has been bullied at school because she plays football, her mother told Seacoast Online. She's a huge fan of Edelman.
Rondeau wears the number 11 after her favorite player Julian Edelman, the New England Patriots’ star receiver, who played quarterback in high school and in college at Kent State University. She’s even attended his pro-passing camp for youth football players, she said.
When the Patriots and Edelman heard she was being bullied at school for playing football, they invited her to Gillette Stadium, where she met Edelman and received a surprise gift from the Patriots wideout -- tickets to Super Bowl LIII.
"I heard about your story, about going out there and having a challenge, of dealing with adversity because people not accepting this, that," Edelman said. "My respect level for you is just through the roof because you just ignored all the noise and you played the game we all love, and that’s football."

The Patriots will play the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta on Sunday. Rondeau will be one of thousands of Patriots fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium hoping to see the franchise win its record-tying sixth Lombardi Trophy.
