FOXBORO -- Former Patriots wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins has found yet another new home.
The Jets announced on Monday that they signed Thompkins to their practice squad. The third-year player was released off of the Patriots practice squad last week after spending just over three weeks with the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati in 2013.
Thompkins spent the 2013 season and part of the 2014 season with the Patriots before being released in order to make room for linebacker Ja'Gared Davis on the 53-man roster. Thompkins was claimed off waivers by Oakland, where he finished the 2014 season. The Raiders released him on Sep. 1 of this year, and he was signed to the Patriots practice squad on Sep. 7.
Thompkins has made 53 catches for 728 yards and four touchdowns in 26 games as a pro. He told reporters in Foxboro that being with the Patriots felt "like home" to him but his second go-round with the team didn't last.
