Tom E. Curran speaks with Greg Harden, the man who brought Tom Brady back from the brink at Michigan and helped shape his mental toughness, in a conversation that can be heard on a special episode of Quick Slants the podcast presented by Papa Gino’s. Harden takes us back in time to when he first started working with Brady, and how the quarterback is equipped to handle the fallout from Deflategate and league-issued suspension.

“Win, lose, or draw you have to fight. He’s going to fight, but he’s not going to be distracted. And in fact, the thing that a Tom Brady — in my opinion — how he operates: all they did was create a monster,” Harden said. “You have a guy who can turn anything into a source of motivation, a source of something that can energize him. He energizes off of chaos now. He energizes off of threats to the kingdom.”

“He’s a marked man. And so at this point you can’t be stunned that people want to bring you down. You’re the top dog,” Harden said.
