Gronk on trade rumors: ‘Just shows how much fake news is out there'

A day after rumors ran rampant of his possible trade from the Patriots, tight end Rob Gronkowski dismissed it all as "fake news."

When asked by WBZ-TV's Lisa Gresci about stories of an imminent trade on Friday - which NBC Sports Boston's Tom E. Curran and Mike Giardi shot down - Gronkowski speaking at his youth football camp, said, "It just shows you how much fake news is out there."

The All-Pro tight end will be in New York later today to watch his namesake horse, of which he recently became a part owner, race in the Belmont Stakes.

Gronkowski talked more about the horse, the trade rumors and teammate Julian Edelman facing a PED suspension in an interview with NBC 10 Boston's Kevin Walsh at Hanscom Field before leaving for the Belmont. Click here for the full interview.

Curran did report later Friday that Gronk, who was back at Pats' mini-camp this week after skipping earlier voluntary OTA sessions, had been shopped by the Patriots earlier in the offseason.
