Devin McCourty's college career
Devin McCourty played college football for Greg Schiano at Rutgers, where he won a bowl game in all four seasons with the Scarlet Knights.
A two-star recruit out of St. Joseph Prep in Montvale, New Jersey, where he also starred as point guard on the school's basketball team, McCourty enrolled at Rutgers in the fall of 2005 alongside his twin brother, Jason, after receiving interest from UConn, Maryland, North Carolina State and Syracuse.
While Jason played immediately in 2005, Devin redshirted and didn't play his first snaps until the following season.
In college, Devin McCourty mainly played cornerback, as he did for the Patriots his first two seasons before switching to safety in 2012.
He finished his career for the Scarlet Knights with 238 tackles, six interceptions and a sack.

Devin's twin brother Jason is a veteran of 13 NFL seasons, including a three-year stint in New England (2018-20). A sixth-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2009, he spent the first eight years of his career in Nashville before joining the Cleveland Browns in 2017 (the year they finished 0-16) prior to joining the Patriots in time for their run to Super Bowl LIII.
Not only was it Jason's first championship, but New England's three playoff games in 2018 were the first three of Jason's career.
