Game notes: Patriots set host of records

FOXBORO -- Two of the Patriots -- Tom Brady and Stephen Gostkowski -- set records Sunday that you already know about. But here are some other records and interesting tidbits, courtesy of the Patriots' P.R. department, that you may not be aware of:

PATRIOTS SET FRANCHISE RECORD FOR MOST POINTS IN FIRST THREE GAMES: The 119 points they've scored in their first three wins eclipses the previous record of 115, set in 2002.

PATRIOTS OFF TO 3-0 START FOR NINTH TIME IN TEAM HISTORY: They were also 3-0 in 1964, 1974, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2013. 

PATRIOTS TIE TEAM RECORD WITH 35 FIRST DOWNS: They set the mark in a 31-21 win over Denver on Oct. 7, 2012.

PATRIOTS SET NFL RECORD FOR FIRST DOWNS THROUGH FIRST THREE GAMES: The Patriots have a total of 88 first downs through three games in 2015, the highest total through three games for any team in NFL history. The previous record was 86 first downs by Buffalo through the first three games of the 1991 season. The Patriots’ previous team record for most first downs through three games was 85 in 2011. 

TOM BRADY TIES BRUCE ARMSTRONG FOR FRANCHISE RECORD IN GAMES PLAYED: The Pats' quarterback has now played in 212 games for New England, tying the record set by the veteran offensive lineman from 1987-2000.

BRADY SETS COMPLETION RECORD: Tom Brady's 96 completed passes are the most by any quarterback in history over the first three games of a season.

DID YOU KNOW:  The Patriots are 103-19 at Gillette Stadium, and their .844 home winning percentage since the stadium opened in 2002 is the best in the NFL . . . The Patriots have won 76 straight games when leading at halftime . . . The Patriots have won 20 consecutive home games against non-divisional opponents. Their last loss to a non-divisional foe was a 33-10 defeat at the hands of the Steelers on Nov. 30, 2008 . . . The Patriots' 34-point margin of victory today is their largest margin of victory since  a 34-point win at Baltimore, 41-7, on Dec. 22, 2013 . . . Julian Edelman caught eight passes today and now has 296 in his career, moving him past Gino Cappelletti into 10th place on the team's all-time list . . . Brady is now 5-0 in his career against the Jaguars, one of eight teams he hasn't lost to in the regular season. The others are the Falcons (4-0), Bears (4-0), Lions (4-0), Vikings (4-0), Cowboys (3-0), Eagles (3-0) and Bucs (3-0).
