Get ready, folks. The bye week deluge is coming.
Four teams are off this week, meaning fantasy football owners have more holes to fill on their rosters. And the further we get into the NFL season, the fewer quality players are left in the fantasy free agent pool.
But fear not: There still are quality options on the waiver wire, including an elite streaming option on defense.
Here are some of the best waiver wire pickups for Week 6.
QUARTERBACK
Gardner Minshew II, Jacksonville Jaguars (owned in 25 percent of Yahoo! leagues): Here's a hot fantasy take: Minshew is a better Week 6 play than Baker Mayfield. The Jaguars' mustachioed gunslinger has thrown two touchdown passes in three straight games and put up season highs in attempts, completions and yards last Sunday. That's a sign the Jags are comfortable letting Minshew airing it out, and that trend should continue against a New Orleans Saints defense that's allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.
Other quarterbacks to target: Kyle Allen (CAR), Kirk Cousins (MIN), Teddy Bridgewater (NO)

RUNNING BACK
Adrian Peterson, Washington Redskins (47 percent owned): Interim head coach Bill Callahan apparently is hell-bent on running the ball. That's good news for Peterson, an old-school bruiser who hadn't been very productive under Jay Gruden. He's still a fringe play until we see Callahan's new offense in action, but it's slim pickings for running backs right now, and Peterson offers the most upside.
Other running backs to target: Chase Edmonds (ARI), Ito Smith (ATL), Gus Edwards (BAL)
WIDE RECEIVER
Mohamed Sanu, Atlanta Falcons (42 percent owned): Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley get all the hype, but Sanu has more receptions (29) than both wideouts this season and has recorded double-digit fantasy points in three straight games. He has another favorable matchup this week against the Arizona Cardinals, so he needs to be at least rostered in every league.
Other wide receivers to target: Preston Williams (MIA), Paul Richardson Jr. (WAS), Diontae Johnson (PIT)
TIGHT END
Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams (11 percent owned): Those looking for a Darren Waller or Eric Ebron replacement should turn to Everett, who has 12 receptions on 19 targets over his last two games. The San Francisco 49ers have been stingy against opposing tight ends, but given Everett's favor with quarterback Jared Goff, he's the best tight end streaming option this week.
Other defenses to target: Chris Herndon (NYJ), Noah Fant (DEN)
DEFENSE
Dallas Cowboys (55 percent owned): Pro tip: Start whichever defense is playing the New York Jets. Philadelphia's defense won a lot of matchups for fantasy owners in Week 5 by feasting on a hapless Jets offense without Sam Darnold, and Dallas is next in line.
Other defenses to target: Redskins (at MIA), Broncos (vs. TEN)
