We're on to Week 6, which is just about the halfway point in the regular season in most fantasy football leagues.
That means you should be actively seeking out possible trades that will either turn your season around and put you on track toward a playoff berth, or help you pull away from the rest of your league and earn a high playoff seeding.
Whatever your situation may be, the best way to pursue the right trade is by using the buy-low, sell-high method. Here are some candidates that fall under both of those categories entering Week 6. . .
BUY LOW
Melvin Gordon, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Gordon was rusty, to say the least, in his first game back with the Chargers after his holdout. He had 12 carries for only 31 yards and was completely outshined by Austin Ekeler in the passing game. That won't be the case in future weeks as Gordon gets eased back into the offense. Expect great things out of the 26-year-old for the rest of the season.
Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Carson had his best fantasy performance of the season last week, so you're not necessarily buying "low" here. But you're buying a lot lower than you will be if you try dealing for him any later than right this second. I have him as an RB1 for the rest of the year, but you may be able to get him for the price of an RB2.
Damien Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Williams didn't put up eye-popping numbers in his Week 5 return, but it's clear this is his backfield going forward. Go get him now while his value is significantly lower than it will be the rest of the season.
Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Evans is an elite WR1 although he's undoubtedly frustrated fantasy owners with his boom-or-bust season to this point. Following a Week 5 outing that saw him put up a goose egg on the scoresheet, there's no better time to buy low on the Bucs' No. 1 target.
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Cleveland Browns
There absolutely is reason to panic about OBJ right now. The Browns offense looks completely out of sync and his quarterback Baker Mayfield has no time in the pocket. That being said, Beckham's value is at its absolute lowest right now. Any time a player as talented as OBJ can be bought at a low price, you have to pull the trigger.
Keenan Allen, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Back-to-back underwhelming performances make Allen a perfect buy-low candidate this week. He will be a strong WR1 for the rest of the season.
SELL HIGH
Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Ekeler will continue to be a valuable asset in fantasy going forward even with Gordon in the mix, but you definitely can get a RB-needy owner in your league to overspend for him. This probably will be the final week we'll be able to say that.
Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys
Talent-wise, Zeke is still an elite running back. But if you can get a major haul in return for him in a trade, you should pull the trigger. The production so far this season hasn't been up to par with what we've expected out of him, but the big name will get someone in your league to spend a fortune.
Matt Breida, RB, San Francisco 49ers
After that huge performance on Monday Night Football, now is the time to sell Breida to some sucker in your league. The fact is Breida is in a timeshare with Tevin Coleman and what we saw on Monday night had more to do with the incompetence of the Browns than Breida's realistic value from this point on.
Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago Bears
Robinson scored his first two touchdowns of 2019 during his outstanding Week 5 performance in London. His situation still isn't ideal as he's stuck in a lackluster Bears offense led by Chase Daniel under center. Sell Robinson high while you can.
Will Fuller, WR, Houston Texans
Following four straight mediocre weeks to begin the season, Fuller went off for 14 catches with 217 yards and three touchdowns in the Texans' blowout win over the Falcons. Sell, sell, sell.
