Falcons owner has “totally recovered” from Super Bowl loss to Patriots

The New England Patriots denied the Atlanta Falcons their first championship with a legendary 25-point comeback to win Super Bowl LI in overtime two years ago, but Falcons owner Arthur Blank already has turned the page.

Blank's franchise is hosting Sunday's Super Bowl LIII matchup between the Patriots and Los Angeles Rams at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and he was asked during a media session Monday about his team's historic loss to the Patriots.

"Yes. I've totally recovered from that (loss)," Blank said. "That's history."

The Falcons won a playoff game last season before ultimately losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round, but Atlanta failed to make the playoffs this season.

There's no doubt Falcons players and fans will remember that loss to the Patriots for the rest of their lives, but there's no point in dwelling over it. Blank's mindset is the right one for the Falcons to take if they are going to reach the Super Bowl again.
