FOXBORO -- Julian Edelman was back on the Patriots practice field Friday afternoon after being listed as a limited participant during Thursday's session due to a foot issue. The Patriots receiver appeared to be moving well during the media-availability portion of the practice, with no noticeable signs of having aggravated the left foot that has been surgically repaired twice in the last year.
Patriots right tackle Marcus Cannon was on the field for the team's final practice of the week as well. He missed Thursday's workout with a calf issue that he has been dealing with since before last weekend's loss to the Bills.
Absent from Friday's sweats-and-shells work were linebacker Shea McClellin, defensive tackle Vincent Valentine, running back Brandon Bolden and quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The rookie signal-caller has not missed a Patriots practice thus far this season, though he has been limited with a thumb injury since a Week 3 win over the Texans.
The Patriots practiced in full pads on Thursday, giving way to a lighter Friday session.
"Yeah, well we needed it," Belichick said of Thursday's practice. "Obviously, the Browns are an excellent running team so to be able to get our timing on that, also offensively just to work against an odd spacing team. In their 3-4 they’re really kind of more of an under team but it’s the same thing. A lot more odd spacing so just to get our timing and our footwork and our execution in the running game and one-on-one pass rush, third-down, that’s always good."
