The New England Patriots punched their ticket to Super Bowl LIII with another rushing touchdown where the offensive line dominated its opponents, and center David Andrews couldn't pass on the opportunity to celebrate the moment.
Shortly after running back Rex Burkhead ran in for the winning touchdown in overtime of Sunday's AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium, Andrews ran across the end zone and waved goodbye to stunned Kansas City Chiefs fans.
Check out the funny scene in the video below.
The offensive line has helped the Patriots out-gain opponents by 271 yards on the ground through two playoff games. The o-line also hasn't allowed a single sack of quarterback Tom Brady in the postseason. It's been one of the best playoff performances by a Patriots offensive line in recent memory.
"Yeah, there’s always things we can work on. There’s some things we need to improve on. But the last two weeks, we’ve been clicking well," Andrews said Monday at Gillette Stadium. "I thought it was a big challenge this week – no penalties, we didn’t do anything to hurt ourselves on the road, and that was going to be a huge challenge with the noise and just that team has a good defense. It was a big challenge. Our tackles have been playing lights out, so hats off to those guys, and us three on the inside have been holding our own. We’ve just got to keep going, keep moving forward and get back to work here this week."
The Patriots will play the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII on Feb. 3 in Atlanta. Andrews is from Georgia and played at the University of Georgia, so if the Patriots win, we might see an even funnier celebration from the Patriots center than what unfolded in Kansas City.
