FOXBORO -- Best and worst from the Patriots' 51-10 victory over the Jaguars on Sunday:
BEST MILESTONE OF THE DAY
Tom Brady became the fourth player in the history of the NFL to throw 400 touchdowns when he hit Danny Amendola from one yard away. The only other signal-callers with 400 touchdown passes are Peyton Manning (533), Brett Favre (508) and Dan Marino (420). He later threw No. 401 to Keshawn Martin in the third quarter.
WORST APPRECIATION FOR VALUABLE NFL MEMORABILIA (Courtesy of Tom E. Curran)
After hauling in Tom Brady's 400th career touchdown pass late in the second quarter, Danny Amendola wound up to spike the cherished relic on the back line of the end zone. He thought better of it. Then handed it to a fan in the front row. The fan actually handed the football back so the heirloom would be properly preserved.
BEST OTHER MILESTONE OF THE DAY
Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski kicked his 422nd consecutive extra point with about 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter. That tied him for the NFL record with Matt Stover. Helater kicked No. 423 with 3:18 left in the third quarter. Of course, Stover didn't have to deal with 33-yard extra points so even Gostkowski didn't break the record on Sunday, he had bragging rights.
BEST OTHER, OTHER MILESTONE OF THE DAY
Early in the third quarter, it was brought to the attention of the press box that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski had four catches for 101 yards, giving him his 17th career 100 yard game. That's a franchise record for his position.
WORST SIGHT IF YOU'RE A FAN OF HEALTHY TIGHT ENDS
In the first half, Gronkowski was tackled low by Jaguars safety Sergio Brown -- the same player Gronkowski "threw out of the club" last year in Indianapolis -- likely giving fans flashbacks to the TJ Ward hit that tore Gronkowski's ACL and ended his 2013 season. Gronkowski also collided awkwardly with Jaguars corner Davon House near the goal line in the third quarter, but refused treatment from trainers when approached.
BEST DEBUT
Patriots receiver Keshawn Martin was acquired in a trade with the Texans in the days leading up to the Bills game in Week 2. He was inactive for that game but was in uniform against Jacksonville. He caught the first three passes thrown his way for a combined 33 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Martin has extensive punt-return experience but Amendola and Edelman handled those duties for the Patriots on Sunday.
WORST ATTEMPT TO SLOW DOWN THE PATRIOTS
In the first quarter, the Jaguars opted not to cover Gronkowski down the seam and then whiffed on several attempts to tackle running back Dion Lewis on his way to an eight-yard touchdown. In the third quarter, Jags safety James Sample simply tackled Gronkowski in the end zone as the ball approached. He was called for pass interference, which led to a one-yard touchdown run by LeGarrette Blount. It was Blount's first score of the year.
BEST FUNKY TOUCHDOWN-DRIVE BREAKDOWN
Blount's score was technically the only play of that drive for the Patriots. When all was said and done, in the books it went down as a one-play drive that covered 67 yards in 47 seconds. An offensive pass interference penalty was followed by two defensive pass interference penalties, which put the Patriots on the doorstep.
