FOXBORO -- Bill Belichick is on to Cincinnati. That means that even though tight end Martellus Bennett will be featured on an ESPN "E:60" piece Wednesday night talking trash about the Bears, Bennett's former team, Belichick doesn't...really...care.
"We just had a bunch of bitches on the roster," Bennett told ESPN in an interview that was done back in the spring. "That’s why we didn’t win games, and coaches liked the bitches."
Bennett also took some time to take a shot at Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
"Some guys that you want to be the leader, that’s not the guy that’s a leader," Martellus said. "Everyone in the locker room knows that this is not the leader, but this is what you want the face of the team to look like."
Belichick was asked on Friday if he had any reaction to Bennett's comments.
"I'm trying to get our team ready to play Cincinnati," he said. "That's really my job. That's what I'm concerned about. I think I need to do a good job, coaching staff needs to do a good job with our preparation, practice preparation, game-planning. Bengals are an excellent team, they're very-well coached, as I've said, they've won as consistently as anybody in the league over the last five years.

"They have a great organization, top to bottom. [Owner] Mike Brown to the scouting staff to the coaching staff to their veteran players to the depth that they have. This team has tremendous depth. They got multiple running backs, multiple receivers, multiple tight ends, multiple defensive tackles, multiple defensive ends, they play two sets of linebackers, corners, their No. 1 draft choice is their third corner. They have a lot of depth, a lot of talent, and they're a very strong organization. Our focus is trying to prepare as well as we can for them.
"I'm not really worried about any other team or some other random comments. That's not really on my radar."
