Tom E. Curran gives some quick thoughts on Tom Brady's two-year contract extension with the Patriots, which will take him through the 2019 season when he's 42 . . .
"Twenty years a Patriot. Of course, 2000 (when Brady was the backup to Drew Bledsoe, Michael Bishop and John Friesz) and 2008 (when he was injured) were lost seasons, but Tom Brady will have been, by the end of the 2019 season, in New England for 20 seasons.
"It's pretty amazing. And it actually aligns with something Brady told me after his previous contract extension a couple of years ago, when he said, 'I plan on playing until I'm 43' . . . [It] certainly leads me to believe, in hindsight, this [contract] . . . could conceivably be (the last) of Tom Brady's career."
