Gone? Probably. Forgotten? Quite the opposite, actually.
The New England Patriots placed Josh Gordon on injured reserve Wednesday, and it appears they'll waive him once he's healthy enough to return, meaning his tenure in New England likely is over.
But guess who popped up in a Patriots social media post (albeit subtly) Friday morning?
Ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Browns, the Patriots resurfaced highlights of their 2013 come-from-behind win over Cleveland. The first highlight in the clip? An 80-yard catch-and-run by Gordon, then a Browns receiver enjoying the best season of his NFL career.
In fact, that Patriots matchup was one of Gordon's better games, as he finished with seven catches for 151 yards and a touchdown in Cleveland's 27-26.
Oh, and did you notice the Patriots called this a flashback, and that Gordon's nickname happens to be "Flash"?

New England and Cleveland have only met once since that 2013 game -- a 33-13 Patriots win in 2013 -- so it's perfectly reasonable to dust off Gordon's big game ahead of Sunday.
But considering the timing, this seems like the Patriots' way of signaling their appreciation for Gordon if he's indeed done in Foxboro.
