AFC Championship Game schedule: Patriots vs. Chiefs date, time, TV channel

The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs will play in a mouth-watering AFC Championship Game matchup at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.

The Patriots beat the Los Angeles Chargers and the Chiefs beat the Indianapolis Colts in their AFC Divisional Round matchups.

Sunday's showdown will be the Patriots' eighth AFC title game in a row and third on the road over that span. The Patriots, with a win against the Chiefs, would become the first team to reach the Super Bowl in three consecutive seasons since the Buffalo Bills in the 1990s.

The Chiefs are hoping to end their Super Bowl appearance drought. Kansas City has not reached the Super Bowl since the 1969 season when it defeated the Minnesota Vikings 23-7 in Super Bowl IV. The majority of the pressure will be on the Chiefs as the favorites and the team with home-field advantage.

The last meeting between these teams at Arrowhead Stadium was a one-sided affair. The Chiefs crushed the Patriots 41-14 during the 2014 season. The Patriots were 3-5 on the road this season and need to execute as well as they did Sunday against the Chargers to have a chance to upset the Chiefs.

Here's all the information you need to watch the Patriots and Chiefs square off with a berth in Super Bowl LIII on the line.
