Week 6 of the 2020 NFL season saw plenty of exciting games and surprising results, forcing us to re-think how we feel about the contender status of several teams. One of the most surprising results was the New England Patriots losing 18-12 at home to the Denver Broncos and not scoring a single touchdown. Patriots fans watched their team struggle for three hours, and then witnessed New England's former quarterback, Tom Brady, crush the undefeated Packers in a 38-10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers rout.Ouch.It's time for a fresh batch of 2020 NFL Power Rankings entering Week 7. Here's where the Patriots and the other 31 teams stand.

The Jets are completely unwatchable. They got shutout, 24-0, to the Dolphins. Yes, you read that right, the DOLPHINS.
New York has been shutout in 38 quarters since the start of last season, which is by far the most of any team over that span.
Getting the No. 1 pick and drafting Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021 is the only light at the end of the tunnel for the Jets.
(Last three rankings: 32, 32, 32)

Kyle Allen played decent at quarterback for Washington, but this team just doesn't have enough offensive firepower to win more than a couple games this season. Washington couldn't even beat a Giants team that tallied just 240 total yards of offense.
(Last three rankings: 29, 27, 24)

Losing by 18 points at home to the Lions tells you everything you need to know about the Jaguars. The only hope for Jacksonville football fans is their team gets the No. 1 pick and drafts Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2021.
(Last three rankings: 27, 25, 23)

The Giants held on late to beat Washington and give Joe Judge his first career win as a head coach. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had a below average day throwing the football, but he did make plays with his legs (74 rushing yards on seven carries). Remarkably, New York is still one win behind the rival Cowboys for first place in the division.
(Last three rankings: 26, 31, 31)

The Falcons fired head coach Dan Quinn and FINALLY closed a game. Atlanta jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead over the Vikings and ultimately won, 40-23. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was sensational with 371 passing yards and four touchdowns.
(Last three rankings: 30, 28, 26)

The Texans badly needed a win over the Titans and fell just short in a 42-36 overtime loss. Houston has played a difficult schedule and it doesn't get any easier next week against the 4-1 Packers. The Texans will need a miracle finish to earn their third consecutive playoff appearance.
(Last three rankings: 28, 29 28)

The Vikings are without question the most disappointing team in the league. They have only one (!) victory through six weeks and just lost to the previously winless Falcons, who fired their coach earlier in the week.
The Vikings have a much-needed Week 7 bye before they travel to Lambeau Field for a matchup against the rival Packers.
(Last three rankings: 22, 23, 27)

If the Lions want to be a playoff team, they can't lose to teams like the Jaguars, and Detroit took care of business with a 34-16 win. The most encouraging aspect of the victory for the Lions was rookie running back D'Andre Swift tallying 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries.
(Last three rankings: 31, 30, 25, 30)

The Bengals played well Sunday, but they were beaten by a better and more experienced Colts team, 31-27. Rookie quarterback Joe Burrow tallied his fourth 300-yard performance in six games for Cincinnati.
(Last three rankings: 24, 22, 21)

The Eagles showed impressive fight in the second half and almost tied the score late in the fourth quarter after falling behind 17-0 at halftime. Philly ultimately lost, 30-28, but there's still plenty of time for the Eagles to turn things around because the NFC East is a total train wreck. The Eagles are still just a single win behind the Cowboys for first place in the division.
(Last three rankings: 23, 23, 24)

It's going to be a brutal finish to the season for the Cowboys, and that was evident in Monday night's 28-point loss to the Cardinals. And despite how awful Dallas is playing, if the season ended today, the Cowboys would be NFC East champs and headed to the playoffs.
Wild.
(Last three rankings: 17, 18, 13)

The Broncos deserve a lot of credit for coming into Gillette Stadium and beating the Patriots,18-12, without allowing a single touchdown. Second-year quarterback Drew Lock almost gave up the win with two fourth quarter interceptions, but Denver's defense held on late.
(Last three rankings: 25, 26, 30)
Perry's Report Card: Pats earn rough grades after loss to Denver

The Chargers had a Week 6 bye and their upcoming schedule is pretty favorable. Games against the Jaguars, Broncos, Raiders, Dolphins and Jets over the next five weeks give L.A. a tremendous opportunity to climb back into the AFC playoff race.
(Last three rankings: 21, 21, 20)

The Dolphins had no trouble with the Jets, earning a 24-0 win at home that saw rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa make his NFL debut in garbage time. Miami is now ahead of the Patriots for second place in the AFC East.
(Last three rankings: 19, 20, 19)

A 4-2 record looks good on paper, but when you consider the fact that all four of the Rams' wins came against the putrid NFC East, it's tough to know if Los Angeles is really any good.
We won't know until they actually beat a good team. They've played two so far, the 49ers and Bills, and lost both times.
(Last three rankings: 11, 11, 14)

Scoring points against the talented Bears defense is hard enough without turning over the football, and the Panthers had three turnovers versus Chicago in Sunday's loss, including two Teddy Bridgewater interceptions.
The Panthers' tough schedule doesn't get any easier with matchups against the Saints, Chiefs and Buccaneers over the next four weeks.
(Last three rankings: 18, 19, 22)

The Cardinals took care of business with a 38-10 demolition of the Cowboys on "Monday Night Football." Arizona put up 438 total yards (including 261 rushing yards) of offense with five touchdowns. The Cardinals offense is pretty tough to stop when it plays with this type of balance and explosiveness.
(Last three rankings: 16, 17, 15)

The good news for the Browns is they have a 4-2 record through six games despite Sunday's 38-7 loss in Pittsburgh. The bad news for Cleveland is its only two losses are against division rivals the Steelers and Ravens, and that isn't good for the Browns in case tiebreakers come into play later in the season to decide a tight AFC North race.
(Last three rankings: 12, 13, 18)

The Raiders had a Week 6 bye following their impressive upset win over the Chiefs in Week 5. Las Vegas will return to action with a tough Week 7 matchup against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers at home.
(Last three rankings: 14, 16, 16)

The Patriots played awful against the Broncos and lost, 18-12, in Foxboro. New England is under .500 in October for the first time since 2002.
The Patriots also entered Week 6 with a 39-0 record under head coach Bill Belichick when not allowing a single touchdown. Denver snapped that streak Sunday.
(Last three rankings: 8, 7, 7)
Curran: Pats on a flat-line trajectory through 5 games

The 49ers got back to the .500 mark with a 24-16 win over the rival Rams on "Sunday Night Football".
A bounce-back performance from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo -- 268 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions -- was precisely what the 49ers needed after last week's abysmal loss to the Dolphins.
(Last three rankings: 20, 14, 11)

A dominant fourth quarter in which the Colts outscored the Bengals 10-0 propelled Indianapolis to another win and a 3-0 record at home. Colts quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 371 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the victory.
(Last three rankings: 15, 12, 17)

The Saints had a Week 6 bye and will return Sunday afternoon with a matchup against the Panthers. New Orleans has won six of its last seven games versus Carolina.
(Last three rankings: 10, 10, 10)

The Bears offense continues to look quite bad at times, but the team's elite defense often makes up for those woes.
Chicago's D forced three turnovers and held the Panthers to 3-of-13 on third down in Sunday's 23-16 win in Carolina.
(Last three rankings: 13, 15, 12)

The Bills' 4-2 record looks strong on paper, but none of those wins (Jets, Dolphins, Rams, Raiders) were against top competition. Buffalo has played two top-tier opponents, the Titans and Chiefs, and lost both games. The Bills have an easy Week 7 game versus the Jets before a tough three-game stretch with matchups against the Patriots, Seahawks and Cardinals.
(Last three rankings: 7, 7, 4)

The Titans are a legit AFC contender. They have gone through a lot in recent weeks in regards to battling COVID-19, so you have to be impressed by their ability to keep winning games.
Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 364 yards with four touchdowns, and running back Derrick Henry rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns to lead Tennessee to a 42-36 overtime win against the Texans on Sunday.
(Last three rankings: 6, 9, 8)

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were poised for a convincing win over the Buccaneers after taking a 10-0 lead in the first quarter Sunday. But Tom Brady and the Bucs completely turned the game around by outscoring the Packers 28-0 in the second quarter en route to a 38-10 win.
It was a bad loss for Green Bay, but it has a great opportunity to get back on track with a home game against the struggling Texans next week.
(Last three rankings: 2, 3, 3)

The Ravens nearly blew a 24-6 third quarter lead and needed a goal line stand on an Eagles 2-point conversion attempt with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to escape with a 30-28 win.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was sensational, tallying 108 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
(Last three rankings: 4, 5, 5)

The Buccaneers scored 38 unanswered points in Sunday's win over the previously unbeaten Packers. It was a statement victory for Tampa Bay that included excellent performances from quarterback Tom Brady, running back Ronald Jones and tight end Rob Gronkowski.
The keys for the Bucs were zero penalties and zero sacks allowed. It's going to be tough to beat the Buccaneers if Brady consistently has a clean pocket.
(Last three rankings: 9, 6, 9)
WATCH: Brady delivers vs. Rodgers, Packers

The Steelers are very good and a real threat to the Chiefs (and other contenders) in the AFC, and that was evident in their dominant 38-7 win over the Browns. Pittsburgh's defense forced two Baker Mayfield interceptions and allowed only 220 yards of offense.
(Last three rankings: 5, 8, 6)

The Chiefs bounced back from their first loss of the season with a quality road win over the Bills on "Monday Night Football". Kansas City rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helarie ran for a career-high 161 yards and the team overall totaled 245 yards on the ground.
The most encouraging aspect of the win for the Chiefs was their run defense, which has struggled throughout the season. It held the Bills to just 84 yards rushing (3.7 per carry).
(Last three rankings: 2, 3, 1)

The Seahawks had their bye in Week 6 and will resume game action against two divisional opponents -- the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers -- over the next two weeks.
(Last three rankings: 1, 2, 2)
