Editor's note: As we all impatiently wait for sports leagues to make their much-anticipated return, here is where you can find all of the latest updates regarding each league's plan to start back up.

MLB

Monday, 5 p.m.: ESPN's Jeff Passan reports MLB intends to propose a shorter season.

Sunday, 10 p.m.: Evan Drellich of The Athletic reports the Players Association has sent their return-to-play proposal to the owners, who are not expected to agree to the proposal.

NBA

Friday, 3 p.m.: Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the NBA is targeting a July 31 return date.

The Boston Celtics began voluntary individual player workouts on June 1.

NHL

Tuesday: NHL announces a 24-team return format. 10 cities are being considered for the two hub cities that will host the remainder of the season.

 

MLS

Sunday: ESPN analyst Herculez Gomez reports if MLS and the MLS Players Association do not agree on economic concessions for the 2020 season before Tuesday at 12 p.m., they will initiate a lockout.
